The art of Samurai warfare is now an extinct cultural practice, but was one of the most practiced martial art types in Japan, even up to the 19th century. With the Meiji Restoration, the political balance of “The Land of The Rising Sun” shifted, and the monarchy gained control. The Samurai practices were met with a very powerful military force which they could not win against, and were stripped of all their honour.
