France’s Eolo Perfido is a photographer who has created nightmarish and grotesque pictures of clowns in his album Clownville. Getting inspiration from film stars like Buster Keaton as well as Charlie Chaplin, silent film actors, forcing to exaggerate emotions as they were not able to speak.
Modern day clowns started appearing in 18th century while association with comedy and circus. The word Clown means clumsy and boorish fellow and that is why Perfido transformed these funny ones into frightening and something to fear of.
